google chrome operating system – a new threat to security

on 7-July, 2009, google announced its new strategy on challenging microsoft dominating position in the computer operating system market with its broswer chrome, the idea of the strategy is of rethink how the browsers look like and the trends of the internet application from basic html to rich application, and basically, it is simply the extension of chrome project to challenge the tradition think of operating system.
quoting from the blog post "Google Chrome has always been a little more than a browser: it's optimized for running web applications, each tab runs as a separate process, the interface is minimalistic and there's even a task manager. "We realized that the web had evolved from mainly simple text pages to rich, interactive applications and that we needed to completely rethink the browser. What we really needed was not just a browser, but also a modern platform for web pages and applications, and that's what we set out to build," said Google in September 2008."
continuing to ride on this trends, your user account in google, facebook or yahoo! is no longer simply a "user account" in the old day, but it ties up with everything of your daily life, your email, your calendar, your friends' relationship, even some secret that you don't want to be shared. so if your account is being compromised, you are going to suffer a hugh loss. as a recommendation, i would highly recommend yyou or our organization to start looking into how broswer security affects your daily life or business. thing is happening indeed, take on the train.
